| Jim Blakey started his flying career in 1969 while serving in the US Army. He served on active duty for a total of six years, from 1966 through 1972, and attained the rank of Captain with tours of duty in Vietnam and Germany.
Blakey became involved in corporate aviation in 1978 and has held positions of Chief Pilot, Aviation Department Manager and Director of Aviation for corporate aviation departments in Oklahoma, Michigan and Texas. In these positions, he has accomplished the purchase, lease and sale of numerous corporate aircraft.
He has an Airline Transport Pilot rating with type ratings for the Learjet and Learjet 60 and is single pilot rated in the CitationJet C-525. He is also a Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor. He has accumulated over 11,000 hours of accident- and incident-free flying. He served on the National Business Aviation Association Learjet Technical Committee for eight years with terms of two years as Vice Chairman and four years as Chairman.
